Sunday, December 1st will be our annual FREE St. Nicholas Party in the Holy Ghost Hall of La Salle Academy at 309 First Avenue in Jessup.

​There will be great treats, a basket raffle, and a visit from St. Nick and Max the Therapy Dog, plus music from The Crystal Band! Come join the fun, starting at 3 p.m.!






​Join us for our annual Christmas Bake Sale on Saturday, December 21 from 10 a.m. till 4 p.m. in Holy Ghost Hall of La Salle Academy at 309 First Avenue in Jessup!

We've gone all out this year to help you with your last minute holiday needs! We'll have local artisans selling crafts, delicious homemade holiday goodies, and one of our famous basket raffles where you can try your luck at winning a treat for yourself or someone special! Admission is free.

All proceeds benefit projects at Holy Ghost Byzantine Catholic Church and, as always, we appreciate your support!

​On February 24, 2022, the world witnessed the horrific and unprovoked invasion of Ukraine by Russia. 

Please pray for our Ukrainian brothers and sisters and remember kindly our priests and religious who have family in the Ukraine. To donate directly to the needs of the Ukranian people, visit the website of St. Vladimir's Ukranian Catholic church at  https://stvladimirscranton.org.

Also pray for peace in the Middle East and for the victims of war and crimes against humanity there.

Just as prior to the pandemic, anyone is relieved of the obligation to participate at Sunday Liturgy for a serious reason such as sickness, immobility, fear, caring for someone else.

Eastern Catholic Formation/ECF:  Religious Education Classes

Registration for the 2024-2025 school year is now open! Classes are held on Sundays at 10: 15 till 11:00 a.m. and take place in the Holy Ghost classrooms of La Salle Academy. Classes will begin on Sunday, September 29. Please take this obligation seriously and put your child's religious education BEFORE all other activities.  ECF not only teaches our children how to become closer to God through prayer, service, and knowledge, but it also teaches them what it is to be an Eastern Rite Catholic, and the beautiful traditions of the Byzantine Catholic Church. We welcome the opportunity to teach your child about his or her faith, and the ways of our beautiful Rite.  Please know that we plan to hold in-person ECF classes in the fall. Please contact our DRE, Joyce Covaleski or our Parochial Vicar, Fr. Jessup is located in Lackawanna County, just ten minutes from Scranton, Pennyslvania which is home to the Steamtown National Historic Park, the Steamtown Marathon (a qualifier for the Boston Marathon!), and two excellent Catholic schools of Higher Learning, the University of Scranton and Marywood University.  Jessup itself is home to the annual La Festa dei Ceri or the Race of the Saints known as St. Ubaldo Day.
